This nut is made out of metal and attaches to the hand wheel assembly. It is available as an individual replacement part. It will need to be replaced if it becomes stripped or lost. This part is an OEM from Porter Cable to be used in table saws. A wrench may be needed when replacing this nut.

Remove the switch box from inside of the cabinet, press the tabs on top and bottom of the switch and pull out of the housing. Take the wire lead from the old switch and place them on the same terminal on the new switch. Do the same with the circuit breaker. I also replaced the lost nut on the handwheel.
All parts ordered were exactly as described. Installed all parts. All fit. Saw now runs. Thanks!
