1) assembled the knob assembly
2) filed down the rough shaft ( they used vise grips to turn the the shaft till I replaced the knob)
3) position the new knob and finished the replacement process

Hand wheel was damaged by over-torking. Clean your saw and lube the glide rods for the motor to avoid this problem!
1. Remove (Phillips #2) screw at center of wheel - remove old wheel (leave washers and springs on shaft.)
2. Transfer knob from old wheel to new wheel (another screw)
3. Attach new wheel on shaft with the original screw.
