1. Remove knob on top of reel.
2. Remove spool
3. Slide click ratchet on
4. Slide washer on
5. Reassemble

These parts werenGÇÖt the exact parts for my reel. My model was the shakespeare excursion travel telescoping combo.
But they fit and seem to be working. Thanks!
