Product Description

?

This bail spring is sourced directly from the original equipment manufacturer for Delta drill presses. It is an important component that applies tension on the bail arm guide. Over time it may wear out and lose tension eventually requiring a replacement. The is a special component which puts the fishing line back on the spool as the angler reels it in. To ensure the correct installation of this hardware, check the diagrams of your specific model. This high-quality bail spring is made of durable metal and is sold as an individual item. You will need a screwdriver to remove the old one and secure the new one.

I removed the chrome cover plate on the bail assembly area and saw that the bail spring was broken. Order the new part from ereplacementparts.com. A small plastic part of the assembly should be put into the top of the spring and there is another metal wire part that \"trips\" the bail. You also have to hold the spring under tension to ins tall it. The makes for a total of three parts and re-positioning the cover plate... all while the spring is under tension. It feels like you need three hands, but after a couple of tries, I managed to get it all together. The bail works fine and the spring seems to be holding up fine so far. The only bad part for me is that once you add in the shipping costs... I did the repair myself and it cost me $8.
