Product Description

?

This part is sourced from the original equipment manufacturer for Penn fishing reels. The spring is designed to apply tension on the bail. It is an identical replacement for the spring that was installed on a new unit. Unfortunately, over time it may stretch, get damaged or lost eventually requiring a replacement. Took problem area parts out and replaced them or filed off oxides to get parts moving again. Managed to break the anti rotation shaft which had frozen to the aluminum reel housing and so I had to order additional parts. Lubricated all exposed parts with lite grease and re-assembled. At this point I wished I had taken a few pictures of the tear down but with the schematic provided by eReplacementParts, I was able to figure it out with a lot of trial and error. Reel is working very well now. I learned a hard lesson that when I am done fishing for the day, wash the reel down with a lite spray of water and re-grease frequently.
