This is an authentic Abu Garcia replacement part that is sourced from the original manufacturer to be used with spinning reels. The metal roller connects to the bail arm assembly and is used to limit friction put on the line as it is guided around the spool by the rotor and bail. This part is available as an individual replacement of the original, please see model diagram for associative parts.

Wrong part
I ordered 3 parts for my Abu Garcia S20 reel. Two of the three parts are correct. The third part came in a bag that was labeled as a line roller (PN 1252705) which is what I ordered. However, what arrived was the brake knob (PN1252075). Since the part cost less than the return shipping I can only return the part at my own expense. I am unable to speak with a human on the phone about it. I am really not that upset about the money. It was not an expensive part. I am annoyed by the fact that I have no confidence that if I order again the correct part will be sent in the bag and the turn around on the last part was nearly two weeks. I can't talk with anyone to ensure that the next order will be correct. In a end, a new reel will probably cost me a bit more, but it will be much less of a headache.
