This is an authentic OEM part MTD, Yard Machines, Troy-Bilt, Yard-Man for use with snowblowers. The chute funnels snow away from the snowblower. The most common reasons for replacing the chute are if it is broken or damaged. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the chute are needle-nose pliers, and a 1/2" socket.
