This is an authentic Tecumseh replacement part, sourced from the original manufacturer for use with snowthrower engines. The metal spring is used to provide torsion on the starter pawl dogs that engage the flywheel when the starter pulley is rotated. This item is available as an individual replacement part, please note two springs may be required.
