Stretched the spring at the bottom and attached hook to hole provided.

I hooked the spring hook onto the transmission receiver.The other end of the cable slides into the traction lever at the handlebars.very easy.

1. Removed the broken cable.
2. Inserted one end of cable in the appropriate slot in the handle and hooked the other end to the drive lever.
3. Adjusted the tension.

I broke the traction lever and the throttle control know got brittle with age and broke

1. Removed the 2 roll pins from the control ride near the right handle with a hammer and punch. Roll pins are not reusable so I re-installed cotter pins.
2. Removed the boot for the control rod tension spring and dog on the left side under the control panel.
3. Tapped the control rod through from left to right to clear for in stallation of the new traction lever.
4. Installed the new traction cable into the traction lever and dropped it in place.
5. Reinstalled the control rod tension spring dog and bolt. Be sure the dog is above the traction lever when installing.
6. Slid the control rod back through the left handle and traction control lever.
7 Aligned the roll pin holes with the right side handle and installed cotter pins. Cut them short for clearance.
8. Installed the traction control cable to the Lowe lever and adjusted out slack.
9 Installed the traction control lever tension spring to from the lever to the control panel ( black spring
10. Tested and adjusted with blower running.
