When this plate is removed you can easily remove the old belt. Please pay attention to how the belt is routed through the pulleys and the brake. String the new belt onto the engine drive pulley and the impeller drive pulley and then insert the belt into the brake mechanism in the middle of the belt. Start the engine and see that the impeller stops turning when the clutch handle is off. If not, adjust the tension on the spring and brake mechanism so that the spring just has the tension removed when the clutch handle is in the off position.
