Has electric chute control, and the chute wouldn\'t turn to the left. Ended up buying the new switch and electrical harness combo. Removing the switch was probably the most time consuming part, because I didn\'t want to scratch the metal around it. Used a screwdriver underneath to hold in the tabs, and lifted up on the switch at the same time. Be patient. Installed the new switch and run the wiring, being careful to zip tie the wiring as to protect the wiring from other moving parts. Use the side cutter to snip off the excess on the zip ties. Checked the operation after installation, and it worked like a charm!

The motor that was shown as a replacement was not a drop-in replacement. The connector was different and the hole spacing on the motor was different than the original.
I first took a file to the snowblower mounting slots after marking where the holes for the screws needed to be. This took me about a half hour of careful filing to ge t the holes in the right spot.
The mounting was different in that the original motor used through bolts for mounting that the new motor had threaded inserts so I had to find screws of the correct length to mount the motor. To insure the screws don\'t back out under vibration I used a little blue locktite on the threads.
The next step was to modify the connector. The original connector plugged directly into the motor. The new motor came with a cable with a plug end. I was fortunate enough to have a mating plug in my electrical tool box and female pins to crimp onto the snowblower cable after cutting off the old connector. Trial connect the pins before putting them into the mating plug to test for correct motion of the motor then put the pins in the plug. Tie wrap the extra cable as it will be longer than the original setup.
Once all this was done the motor cover was put back on and the chute moves properly and we\'re back in operation.
