This is an authentic OEM part for use with MTD, Troy-Bilt, Yard-Man and Yard Machines Snowblowers. The auger consists of rotating blades that collect snow and propel it through the auger housing and out the chute. The most common reason for replacing the auger assembly is if the snowblower isn't throwing snow like it should and the blades look worn out. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the auger assembly is a 1/2" socket, 3/8" socket, 7/8" socket and a 9/16" socket.

Saw video on you tube that described the repair process and followed it. Cutting the auger to remove it and the bearings is the easiest method of removal. I repaired two machines and was able to remove the bearing on the left side, but the bearing on the belt side would not come off the shaft. So cutting the auger in half makes remova l very easy.

Auger blew apart

Got model #, ordered part
Removed auger
Cut old auger to get the bushing off (added a half hour to repair time)
Put new auger and bearings (old bushings) in, took about ten min
Started and ran a few minutes (still 85 deg I am in no hurry to use it)
It was a lot easier than I expected!

Weld broke on auger shaft

Removed belt cover and belt. Removed pulley from auger shaft. Removed bearing covers. Pulled bearings from shaft. Removed auger shaft. Removed paint from both ends of shaft and installed bearings. Reinstalled auger shaft and bearing covers. Reinstalled pulley, belt, and belt cover.
