This is a genuine Poulan and Husqvarna part. The recoil starter spins the crankshaft to start the engine when you pull the rope. The most common reason for replacing the recoil starter is if the rope or spring breaks, causing the engine to not start. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the recoil starter is a 3/8" socket and a 5/16" socket.
