This is an OEM glass lid with a center handle for a slow cooker. The lid gets placed onto the cooking pot horizontally. Placing the lid on the cooking pot allows for the heat to build up efficiently and helps to maintain the temperature. If the lid has any cracks or dents it is important to replace it right away because with sudden temperature changes, it could shatter. Keep in mind this lid is not oven safe but is dishwasher safe, as long as it is placed in the top rack.
