This is a removable OEM 6-quart glass slow cooker lid made out of tempered glass. It sits on top of the stoneware and contains heat while cooking. It is important to always be checking the lid for chips or cracks. Never use a damaged lid, as it could shatter while cooking. This glass lid has a black lid hinge, black locking tabs, a lid lifting handle and a lid gasket. When placing the lid onto the stoneware, align the lid so the lid lifting handle is facing the front of the slow cooker and the lid hinge slides into the mating slot on the back of heating base. The lid can then be secured shut with the locking tabs. To properly care for this part, it is fine to wash in the dishwasher, however it is not oven or microwave safe. This slow cooker lid is sold individually, other components are sold separately.
