This external retaining ring, also known as a clip ring or snap ring, is a genuine OEM replacement part used in saws. It is a part of the blade clamp mechanism that is responsible for securing the components together and preventing instability during use. Over time the ring may wear down, lose tension, or fall off leading to excessive noise and vibration, loose components, and reduced cutting efficiency. To remove the retaining ring, disassemble the blade clamp assembly. Carefully pry off the retaining ring and clean the mounting surface. Position the new ring in place and gently press it in until it is secure. Reassemble the equipment in reverse order. Each ring is sold individually.
