If the chain will not keep tight on your chainsaw, you may need a new adjustment screw. The adjustment screw is part of the sprocket cover. The threads can become stripped on the adjustment screw, making it difficult or impossible to adjust the tension of the guide bar. If the adjustment screw is stripped, it will need to be replaced. This is an OEM part and is sold separately.
