It is an OEM sourced part which is made for use with Makita circular saws. The base holds all the components of the saw while also providing support during a cut. If the base is warped or damaged, this will provide an identical replacement for the original part that was installed on a new unit. This high-quality base is made of durable metal and is sold individually. Note, the hardware to secure it is sold separately. A screwdriver will be needed to remove and attach the base.
