This part is an OEM sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in Makita reciprocating saws. The push pin goes between the compression spring and the blade clamp. It is a very small part and will to be replaced if it gets lost or if it breaks. A screwdriver may be necessary when replacing this metal part. The pin is available as an individual replacement.
