Diagnosing the problem took longer than the repair. After replacing other parts, it turned out to be the spacer, washer and retaining clip the guides the arm which pushes the cam on the guard. Putting the retaining clip was a little tricky but was accomplished using needle nosed pliers and small flat screwdriver. At first it would not mov e the arm (got stuck against the cam). I added a little bit of silicone spray and now works like a charm.
