This part has been OEM sourced to ensure quality. The metal flange is intended to be used with circular saws from Makita. This item aligns with the flat sides of the spindle and is used to secure the blade. The flange disperses the pressure but on the blade by the blade bolt across a wider surface area to fasten the blade to the spindle. This item may require a hex socket wrench to install and is sold as an individual item.
I first sprayed down the saw with cleaned to loosen up the parts. Then used penetrating oil to grease it up. Put on the inner flange,blade,outer flange and bolt. Started her up and wahala! Good to go thank you for having the parts so readily available!

Repaired power cord, brushes and replaced flange nuts
Removed half of the switch handle, Remove two screws from cord holder, removed the the cord wires from the switch, cut the cord leads to the correct length, had to locate two terminals to put on the end of the cord leads. ... Read morelder with the two screws. Then replace the handle half. For the brush set, I removed the brush caps, then removed the old brush set and installed the new set and the brush caps. I also replaced the inner and outer flanges, and the blade bolt.
