To Troubleshoot the problem I read up on this (Obsolete - Hah!) Dremel scroll saw on the internet. It seems that the switch is a problem almost all the time. Found ereplacementparts.com on line and looking through the available parts list the article accompanying the parts list stated that the power switch is the culprit just about all th e time.

I ordered two switches (the saw has alight switch as well), plus spare bellows and blower housing. Unfortunately the holiday season slowed down a 2-day delivery by USPS, but I finally got the parts.

TO make the switch repair was easy - remove three screws, slide wires off old switch, slide wires onto new switch. Repeat for switch number two. The bellows replacement was a bit more effort. Removed about a dozen screws and unbolted the frame half from the bottom carriage. Getting to the old bellows was a piece of cake - however I did not need to replace it, just reseat it! I\'m keeping the new bellows and blower housing safe for the future. After bolting to the base casting and replacing the dozen screws the saw performs like new again. Too bad Dremel doesn\'t make this fine machine any more.
