This is an original Makita replacement part manufactured for use with 1/4 sheet finishing sanders. The clamper is used to secure the sandpaper to the sanding pad. The clamper is fastened to the foot of the sander and is adjusted using the wire lever. Two clampers are required and they are sold individually.

1. Remove the 4 screws holding the pad to the sander.
2. Carefully rock the pad off of the motor. The video showed this as an almost effortless step. In fact, however, the pad was stuck quite securely. Just carefully pull, rock, pull, rock, etc., until it comes loose. It is then easy to remove the old clampers.

... Read moree pad back on, but leave space to insert the new clampers, serrated side down. Align the holes so that the screws can be inserted.
4. Alternate tightening the screws so that the pad is pressed evenly back into place.
5. You\'re ready to install new sandpaper and get back to work.
