This is an authentic manufacturer made replacement part which is specially designed for use with Chicago Pneumatic sanders. The sanding pad holds the sandpaper in place while using the sander. This part is made of a foam body that is attached to a hard plastic backing plate. It also has a Velcro style bottom for use with hook and loop sandpaper and is also sold individually. For installation, you will need a screwdriver to aid you.
