Removed faulty switch. Replaced faulty switch. Same problem.... The plastic slide that rides over the micro switch was the culprit. It kept sliding to the off position. I had to shave a little plastic portion of slide to get micro switch to stay on. Worked Great.
Next I replaced the faulty Circuit Board Assembly and Variable speed s witch. This was definitely bad. Put it all back together and works great.

Simply read the tips, on the web site , about checking operation of the switch.
Took longer to read the tips and do the testing than it took to make the repair, very simple installation.
Screws holding the cover were torx drive and very firmly installed. Torx screwdriver stripped the head out on three out of four screws. Fortu nately the screws also had a slot for a flat blade drive which allowed removal.
$4.00 switch salvaged a $70 sander.
