This is an authentic Powermatic replacement part that is sourced from the original manufacturer for use with shapers and sanders. The bearing lock washer fits between the high speed spindle nut and the spindle step sheave. During replacement, it may require a wrench to help install this item correctly. It may become broken and will need to be replaced. This is made of metal and is available as an individual replacement part.
