1. Removed old handle, saving all screws (none were provided with the new part).
2. Used the old screws to attach the knob pieces together, and to the sander body.
3. Tighten all screws.
4. Done.

Very simple repair. I put the two halves of the knob together and attached it to the sander with the two screws saved from the original. No problems.
