This is an authentic replacement part manufactured for use with grinders, polishers, and hole wet drills. The carbon brush is considered a wear item because it is pressed against the rotating armature in the motor and the brush will eventually wear out. Worn brushes can overload the motor and cause it to smoke or spark. Replacing brushes is a commonly power tool repair and this brush is sold individually.
