This replacement brush is an authentic OEM sourced item, not an aftermarket imitation. Its purpose is to conduct electric current. Over time carbon brushes would wear away requiring replacement. It is recommended to replace both brushes at the same time. Please note, this carbon brush with a lead wire is sold individually. You will need a screwdriver to complete this repair.
