Genuine OEM replacement part, this item is sold individually. The purpose of the the 144988-02 Foot is to attach the platen to the sander. To replace the Foot, you will need to remove the screws from the platen. Then you will need to separate the motor housing and slide the Feet out of the housings. You will then be able to reverse the procedure and get sanding again.

Remove the top cap, the the pad and platen. Remove the screws from the housings and remove one half. Pull the feet from the housing. This part does have a front arrow indicator. Both foot broke and sanding pad and plate fell off th sander
1.Took the top of the sander off
2.Took all screws out to get sander in two halves
3. Pulled both broken foot out
4.Replaced both new foot
5. Reassembled the sander sides
6.Replace new pad and plate
7. Works like a new sander
Disassemble unit until halves can be separated (Keep track of where screws go-they are different sizes)
Install new pad supports
Reassemble unit and test

Sander had bad vibration and wouldn\'t sand properly.
Removed the sander pad and saw the foot broken. Had to separate the unit to get the foot out so I also replaced the brushes and switch cover while I had it apart. Works like new.
I had to break open the case the remove the broken feet and install the new feet. There were screws of various sizes so I had to remember which ones go where, but that was not a big problem. eReplacementParts had the parts I needed at a reasonable price and I received them in 4-5 days.
