Product Description

?

It is a genuine OEM component which is designed for Delta sanders. This is the gear that attaches to the camshaft. It helps to drive the spindle assembly. Unfortunately, over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement to ensure your equipment operates properly. One durable plastic gear is included. To ensure the proper repair procedure, refer to the appropriate diagrams of your model. To perform this repair a screwdriver and a wrench set will be necessary to take the housing apart.

Removed broken gear.installed new gear.CAUTION. after installing new gear on gear shafts you must drill a second roll pin hole through the gear. Gear comes with only one hole.why? Who knows. I found this out from the Delta tech support guy.

Inverted machine on workbench and placed spindle through dog hole so machine would sit flat. Removed cover of gear and worm housing. Removed base of machine by removing four screws. Removed allen screws which held linkage in place. Removed linkage and cams and spring. Drove roll pin out of gear. Drove axle out of machine far enough to remove gear. replaced gear. Drove axle back in place. Replaced roll pin. Replaced linkage, allen screws, spring, and base of machine. Greased gears. Machine runs like a champ.

There is a video on YouTube which details the process pretty well. He mentions late in the video to remove the base. It\'s better to do this first thing.
