This high quality replacement brush assembly is specially designed for use with Ryobi routers. It is a genuine OEM sourced item, not an aftermarket equivalent. Motor brushes allow electricity to flow to the motor's spinning armature. When replacing carbon brushes, be sure to inspect your armature for burns, cracks, or other damage which can indicate larger motor problems. It is advised to replace both brushes at the same time. This assembly includes (1) carbon brush in a metal brush holder with a lead wire and a spring attached. You would need a screwdriver to complete this job. • Unplug the tool • Remove the housing • Remove the old brush • Secure the new one in place • Reassemble and test the tool
