This replacement sub base is an authentic manufacturer approved item. It is supplied directly from original equipment manufacturer for use with routers. This is the base plate that allows the tool to slide smoothly over the work surface. This part is made out of black plastic and it is sold individually. This is a simple repair that should only require a screwdriver. • Remove the four (4) screws that secure the sub base • Remove the old plate and replace it with a new one • Secure the new plate using the four (4) screws

I wasn\'t totally satisfied with the Porter Cable Router so, I returned to Home Depot and checked the possibility that your sub base plate might work on this Ridgid Router. It also fits perfectly so, I returned the Porter Cable unit and purchased the Ridgid Router again. I don\'t understand why these companies don\'t carry this base plate because, there is little need for a 2 HP router for every day jobs but, it\'s mandatory for dove tail joints. Porter Cable also has their name on the dove tail jig that I bought two months ago. Now you know one other good reason that you are in business. I have placed your business card in a very special place because I know it\'s just a matter of time before I will need your help again.
