The aluminum clamp is too soft should someone try to unlock and already unlocked clamp. The same is true for locking an already locked clamp. It should be made of steel

I just replaced the axle, insert and clamp. But it could happen again as the clamp is out of sight under the router table.

Removed old parts, installed new. the snap ring was a challenge. I used hemostat to hold snap ring to complete assembly.

Removed retaining clip, remove and replace clamp, replace (very small clip), make final adjustments. Be very careful reinstalling the small clip. The retaining clip fits tightly into slot. Be careful that it doesn\'t spring free from the needle nose pliers and losing the clip.

Unscrew the fitting holding the old one in place, remove old one, new one goes on in reverse order from the removal. Be sure you don\'t lose the small part of the pivot pin.
