When I opened the case the first thing I noticed is that there were no brushes. The collet nut, collets, wrenches, and both parts of the depth knob were also missing. Lastly, the screws holding the top of the case were the wrong ones and didn\'t fit right. So I purchased the parts and made the repair. It was simply pulling back the brush springs and sliding the new brushes in and connecting them. It took less than 30 minutes and it was running good. BTW...the router was given to me because it did not work.

My Ridgid router nut and 1/2\" collet was missing as received. I had a 1/4\" collet and nut for this tool and tried it on my brothers Milwaukee router and it fit. The part for the Ridgid was no longer available so I lucked out by ordering the part as a Milwaukee part. I now own a perfectly functional Ridgid router. Thank You

Install 1/4 collet into collet nut so I may be able to use a 1/4 bit on my 1/2 router

I inspected the 1/2 collet and realized that I needed an Arbor press to pressure fit the 1/4 collet onto the collet nut. The handle on my Arbor press was too short to produce enough pressure to install the collet so I used a 24 inch 1/2 diameter pipe to extend the handle so I would have enough leverage to pressure fit the collet onto the nut. Now I can use smaller bits with the 1/4 collet with my 1/2 inch router.
