Noisy, and eventually stopped working at all

Removed brush caps and springs and brushes from sides of tool
Removed four screws holding plastic housing together.
Separated halves of housing
Lifted armature assembly out of housing
Grabbed shaft lock collar/button before it rolled around the garage floor and disappeared
Unplugged brush holder section from armature
The rear bearing was bad, the front bearing was okay.
Rigged up a v-shaped tool under rear bearing and firmly tapped the shaft to force old bearing off
Placed new bearing on shaft and used a small deep-well socket to drive new bearing into place
Reinstalled brush hold over armature assembly
Test-fitted new brushes. One was binding. Used a small file to gently remove debris from housing to allow brushes to move freely
Placed armature assembly and shaft lock and spring in housing
Reinstalled other half of housing
Reinstalled four screws
Told my wife how awesome I am and how lucky she is to have a man who can fix things
Ignored her rolling her eyes
Dremelled successfully

Took old brushes and caps out and installed new ones it worked great no problems. New ones fit great.

The brushes were worn out. When you replace them sometimes the caps break so, that\'s why I get caps to.

Just remove the caps and the springs and brushes come out. I used caned air to blow out the inside good and installed the new parts. Fast an easy !

Collet nut was cross threaded, could not remove the normal way

1. After removing the four torx screws that hold the case together, I carefully removed the armature from the field wiring\'s.
2. Then I inserted the new armature into the field wiring\'s and reassembled the tool. replaced the cap on the shaft end with a new one because the old one would not come off because it would not fit ove r the collet nut.
3. I had a good bit of trouble getting the brushes inserted into the brush springs because of the arthritis in my hands and fat fingers. I would suggest having some one with small hands assist doing this part. Also be careful you don\'t loose the button and spring involved in holding the armature from turning when removing the armature. It would have taken a lot less time if I didn\'t have so much trouble with the small parts.

Remove old brushs and scrape out brush that is fused in place, without rounding out the triangle slot for new brush.

1. Unscrewed the plastic tip at the output shaft

2. Removed the 4 screws holding the case together and split the case.

3. Removed the old switch and brushes

4. Installed the new switch and brushes

5. Put the case halfs back together and install the 4 screws

5. Screw the plastic tip on to the case.

DONE!
