Lots of good videos showing the repair. Just go slow, don\'t get in a rush and pay attention to how it comes apart. Take photos with your phone to help remember what goes where.
1.) removed the frame
2.) took the broken piece out
3.) ordered the replacement
4.) put the new piece in when it arrived
5.) put the frame back on
It took about 5 minutes
1. Remove catch tray.
2. Remove control cover by prying the bottom clips loose from the outside, then lifting up to clear the hanger slots on top.
3. Disconnect wiring to panel and label the connectors for light and each switch (ice and water).
4. Remove switches and spacers from old bracket.
5. Install spacers the
... Read moren switches to new bracket.
6. Reverse removal process to reinstall bracket assembly and catch tray.
7. Test operation of water and ice dispensers.
8. Brag to your wife and children about how you fixed the refrigerator and therefore do not have to do any further chores this weekend.
Removed face plate to icemaker & water dispenser with a thin blade putty knife at the bottom prying out lightly then sliding up after bottom is out to complete loosening. Unplug face plate makes easy access to remove and replace back plate....
