Handle is plastic and the screw holes are its weakest point and over time broke.

Removed old handle. Adjusted phillips head screw on exterior door to make it snug and decrease torque on other end. Attached door handle to exterior door screw and carefully tightened top screw. Finger tight to avoid additional stress. Test handle for stability and adjust as needed.
