On the switch part #5303200480 the wide terminal have continuity between them when the switch has been pushed \"on\" and released (light is on at this point). Pushing the switch again breaks continuity between the wide terminals (light is off). The narrow terminals only have continuity between them when the switch is fully depressed (such as when switching the light on). If you lack continuity across one of the matching sets of terminals (as my faulty switch did) your switch is bad.
