Kenmore Model 790.46129300 glass top range. Controller for large burner malfunctioned stayed on high all the time. This controller controlled the outer and inner rings of the burner.

1. Turned off circuit breaker.
2. Pulled range out a few inches, enough to gain access to screws on either side.
3. Removed two sets of Phillips screws from sides.
4. Opened oven door and removed two screws under panel.
5. Lifted/tilted up front panel.
6. Removed knob for defective controller and removed 2 Phillips screws.
7. Slid controller out and carefully removed each wire and plugged the wire in the same location on the new controller. Did it one at a time so as not to get the wiring mixed up.
8. Reinstalled and replaced all screws in reverse order.
