Product Description

?

This is a genuine Presto replacement part, it is sold individually. The purpose of the 09901 Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring/Automatic Air Vent Pack (6 Quart) is two-fold. The sealing ring is used to create a seal between the Pressure cooker lid and the pressure cooker pot. In the event if the pressure regulator fails, and to much pressure builds up in the pot, the Overpressure Plug will pop out of the lid releasing the excess pressure in the pot.

My National Presto Meatmaster pressure cooker needed a new seal and over pressure vent

Be patient with the sealing ring, as it is somewhat difficult to fit it all in because the sealing ring circumference exceeds the circumference of the cooker lid. I really did think there was NO WAY the seal diameter was going to fit into the lid! But, it fits in nicely if you work the bulk of the seal into place, then divide any extra se al up into two smaller areas and carefully work those areas in place. I just love it that I can now use my vintage aluminum 6 quart National Presto Meat Master pressure cooker model 406 from the 1940\'s! I can remember my mom using one just like it. A thrift store find is now part of my everyday kitchen cookware. I will continue to use this company for various replacement parts as they shipped the correct part I needed and very promptly.

I removed the old seal and cleaned it thoroughly with a small screwdriver there is some build up underneath the seal. The seal appears to be too big and I almost returned it as the wrong size. The instructions did say to work in excess seal but I didn\'t see how that would be possible. You just need to keep working it in until it is secur e. It fits. (in some places the seal is identified as for a rice cooker but it\'s for a pressure cooker...?) I then removed the air vent and popped in the new one.

Removed the old rubber sealing ring and and cleaned out where it fits in the lid, replaced it with the new one and a also replaced the new air vent pack that came with it. Everything worked real well. This is not the first time I had to replace this sealing ring, so had no problem at all. Have your company on record if I ever need anythi ng replaced, will be contacting you. Thanks again.

Removed old air vent by hand and replaced with a new one. Discarded old sealing ring and used new one. Nothing special necessary. This was on a very old (50 years) pressure cooker. Replacement parts are still available. WOW!

About as simple a repair as you\'ll ever do; the only issue I had was figuring out which end was up on the replacement air vent because the replacement part was completely different that what I removed and the instructions were not as clear as they could have been. The correct orientation for it is to have the small end of the metal tip f acing out (what you see when the lid is locked in place).

The gasket was old and hard. My mistake was leaving it in the
lid while not in use. It took a good 45 minutes to dig it out and
sand the groove clean. It works great now, thanks.

I REMOVED THE OLD AIR VENT AND CLEANED THE AREA. I DID THE SAME WITH THE SEAL RING AND CLEANED THE AREA USING A KNIFE, STEEL WOOL, AND A Q-TIP. AFTER CLEANING, I FIT THE AIR VENT IN THE TOP AND MAKE SURE IT IS WELL PLACED. I DID THE SAME WITH THE SEAL RING AROUND THE INSIDE OF THE TOP MAKING SURE IT IS WELL SEATED. I TESTED THE RING BY PL ACING THE TOP ON AND OFF THE BASE 3 TIMES CHECKING EACH TIME TO MAKE SURE THE SEAL RING STAYED IN PLACE.
