This is a genuine OEM supplied replacement component which is specially designed for use with Porter Cable planers. A planer's knives are machined to make very precise cuts. When your knife blades wear down, you won't get the level of precision you require. Remember that the blades are incredibly sharp and double-sided. Use caution when working with them. 1 Loosened the retaining bolts on each blade.
2 Removed the blade.
3 Installed new blade and set to correct height.
4 Tightened retaining bolts.
Repeat steps 1-4 on other blade.
