You will need needle nose pliers to take the new chain apart then you can take the sprocket on the upper right hand side looking at the left end of the planer head you will need snap ring pliers for this after you\'ve removed this sprocket you\'ll be able to install the new chain onto the sprocket and then connect the ends together. You can reassemble it in reverse order. Don\'t forget to square your machine back up after assembly is completed the left handed allen screw that holds the sprocket on the top left side of the machine can be left loose to allow one side to move without the other one moving
