The drum plate attaches to the adjusting plate and is made of metal. It is a genuine item that is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Makita planers. A wrench might be helpful during the installation of this part. Over time this item may break and will need to be replaced. It is sold as a set of two plates.
