Removed the handle half
Made a wiring diagram
Removed the cord clamp
Removed the wires from the old switch
Connected the wires to the new switch
Screwed in the cord clamp
Attached the handle half to the saw
Removed the brush caps and installed the new brushes
Installed a new blade
Orde red the socket wrench, the open end wrench and the edge guide

Bought a used Makita planer at estate sale. It worked but was in bad shape.

I simply removed the worn parts and used the new ones as replacements. only tools used were a phillips screwdriver. Just be sure to note how the wires are routed in the case. I did install new ring terminals on the new cord, to insure a secure connection to the switch.

Overall very easy repair.
