This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part designed for use with Makita planers. It helps to hold and secure the planer blade to the unit. It is made out of metal and it is sold individually. You would need a wrench to replace this item.
Took the blades out, replaced the new set plate and the blades. Now it works like a charm.
