Cover 5140010-09

Removed and replaced the broken cover plate and replaced with a new one. The correct cover for the 4000 was no longer available so I took a chance and bought the cover for the 4100. Very similar but not exactly the same. One hole needed to be moved 1/2\" and the corner of the metal cover part needed to be very slightly altered to fit the ... Read more saw frame. I made these very obvious and very simple changes and this cover plate allows my dust collector to pick up the sawdust that I produce by the bucket full. I also replaced the blade GUARD unfortunately about a week too late. I was using my saw without the guard and ran the fingers of my left hand into the blade. The power had been turned off, thankfully, but the blade was still spinning. I still have 10 fingers but they will take several more weeks to heal to the point of being able to use them completely. The nails will probably never grow right again and I am afraid cold weather will play hell will them. PLEASE USE THE GUARD EVERY TIME. I got really lucky and got away with about 40 stitches and two broken fingers but it could have been so much worse. First time in 40yrs of regular saw use that I\'ve had an accident. I am always careful but this time was just not careful enough. The guard would have prevented this. Thanks for the opportunity to rant a bit. Martin.

1. Used torx wrench that is part of planer tools.
2. Removed 3 screws from broken guard.
3. Reinstalled new guard with existing screws.
4. 2 minute job.
