Cutter head did not travel freely up and down. Fine adjustment impossible.

Removed sprockets and chain that link the two threaded adjusting rods. Removed adjusting crank handle. Removed top and sides to access adjusting rods and plates that hold them. Removed plates with allen wrench, then screwed threaded rods out. Installed new threaded rods and plates. These had been damaged when my employee tried to adjust t he cutter height without releasing the locking lever. Reinstalled top and sides and crank, then reinstalled sprockets and chain. Planer is working perfectly now. Like a brand-new machine. Love it when stuff works out!
