This item is sold as a set of two which are made of metal. The brush holder goes between the brush assembly and the field housing assembly. A wrench may be helpful when replacing this part. It may become broken and will need to be replaced. This part is a Ridgid replacement part directly sourced from the manufacturer for use in power drives.
