1. Took top of sander off with Torx screwdriver (unplug before doing this!)
2. Unsautered old switch off (just heat the solder while lightly pulling on the cable)
3. Sautered new switch on (switch has holes in it that you can bend the wire around to assist you in doing this)
4. Replaced cover
Removed top cover. clipped wires from switch. Replaced switch with new one. Soldered wires to posts of new switch. Replace cover. Test sander. Voila. It worked.

Would not turn on, power to switch, no power out of switch
Remove screws from top and remove top
Pull switch loose from its mounting position
Unsolder wires from the defective switch
Resolder wires to the new switch
Insert switch into its mount
Re-install top and screws
